Let's just look at a ... GOOD THING!!

OK....Let's skip by the bad things for this week, like:

The North Koreans showing their stuff in the face of our weakness and distraction!?

Nomination of an apparently biased Supreme Court judge?

Government & UAW ownership of a bankrupt automaker (GM).
& Our continued March to socialism!!

Violence and nervousness over Pakistani stability!

INSTEAD....Let's look at a GOOD thing for a change!!

Please take a moment to go to the DOE FUND !!

This will uplift your spirits and give you a sense of the RIGHT kind of "CHANGE"!!

The DOE Fund has been helping to make great improvements in New York (without TARP or "stimulus money") and is a STRONG EXAMPLE of what a determined American spirit & work ethic can accomplish.

DO YOU REMEMBER ???

This Memorial Day...Let's really look at how we treat our fallen heros!! I was recently reminded by some quotes from Rush Limbaugh of some of the following facts.

For instance-
1. Look at the vast differences in compensation between victims of the September 11 casualty ..and those who die serving our country in Uniform:

If you lost a family member in the September 11 attack, you're going to get an average of $1,185,000. (The range is a minimum guarantee of $250,000, all the way up to $4.7 million).

BUT......

"If you are a surviving family member of an American soldier killed in action, the first check you get is a $6,000 direct death benefit, half of which is taxable.Next, you get $1,750 for burial costs. If you are the surviving spouse, you get $833 a month until you remarry. And there's a payment of $211 per month for each child under 18. When the child hits 18, those payments come to a screeching halt.

Keep in mind that some of the people who are getting an average of $1.185 million up to $4.7 million are complaining that it's not enough. Their deaths were tragic, but for most, they were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time."

"We also learned that some of the victims from the Oklahoma City bombing have started an organization asking for the same deal that the September 11 families are getting. In addition to that, some of the families of those bombed in the....

.....You see where this is going, don't you?
Folks, this is the result of over 50 years of entitlement politics in this country. It's just really sad!!"

"Right now, many of our soldiers are in the Middle East while their families are home and often have to survive on food stamps and live in low-rent housing. Make sense???"

....and when a pay raise DOES comes up for the military, they usually receive next to nothing of a raise."
HOWEVER, our own US Congress votes themselves "REAL" raises. Many of you don't know that they only have to be in Congress one time to receive a pension that is more than $15,000 per month. If a typical soldier stays in for 20 years and gets out as an E-7, they may receive a pension of $1,000 per month, while the very people who placed them in harm's way receives their pension of $15,000 per month !!!

"When do we finally do something about this?" If this doesn't seem fair to you, will YOU do anything about it??

Unfortunately, probably not.

GREAT NEWS !!

We now pass bills that no one has even read !!!
Remember the 407pg TARP Bill??? Here it is!!

Now we have even longer ones and need to hire "Speed Readers"!!
How can our own Congressmen and women find this funny???

Don't Worry....You still have some time left!!

Barrack Obama , a well-spoken, "hip" and seemingly popular President has completed his first 100 days, but........

If George W. Bush had mandated we close Guantamamo Prison without any plan as to what to do with the "detainees", would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given Tony Blair a set of inexpensive and useless (to Tony Blair's UK video formatting) DVDs, when Tony Blair had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current on their income taxes, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt all in one year, (which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate), would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt AGAIN within 10 years, would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? You say, no new Taxes, huh?? JUST WATCH!! You'll have those words for dinner next week!!

Can't think of anything else? ....Don't worry. He's done all this in 10 weeks -- so you'll have three years and nine-and-a-half months to come up with an answer.

Engrave this in your Heart !!

Engraved In Stone
by James Robison

At the tip of the Washington Monument, the words LAUS DEO point skyward, proclaiming "Praise Be To God."

As I travel to our nation's capital this week, I am reminded that America historically embraces the concept of a creator, providence and divine intervention. From George Washington's 1789 Thanksgiving Proclamation that "it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor" to Barack Obama's reference this week to the Sermon on the Mount, the Bible's foundational impact on America cannot be disputed.
The Declaration of Independence boldly states, "We are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights." Woodrow Wilson called scripture "the Magna Carta of the human soul" and asserted that "the Bible...is undoubtedly the book that has made democracy and been the source of all progress."

The Lincoln Memorial, here in Washington DC, bears the stone-carved words of the Gettysburg Address, in which Lincoln said, "This nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom." Our national motto is officially "In God We Trust" and those words appear prominently behind Speaker Pelosi's platform in the House Chambers.

In the Main Reading Room of the Thomas Jefferson Building, eight large statues surround the room, representing eight categories of knowledge. Above each statue is a large tablet bearing an inscription in gilt letters. A portion of Micah 6:8 is inscribed above the figure of Religion: "What doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" Ironically, the only other statue bearing a scripture is that of Science, which proclaims, "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handywork." (Psalm 19:1)

"LAUS DEO" is inscribed in the East Face of the Washington Monument cap. Its meaning: "Praise Be To God."

I could go citing examples of Christianity throughout our nation's history and the impact of the Bible on many of our greatest leaders. But instead I want to point out the danger of allowing these words to be mere inscriptions upon stone. In fact, when religion is handed over to politicians as a tool to gain support, it can become cheap and ineffective.

Political usage of biblical rhetoric is on the decline because it resonates with fewer people these days. When President Lincoln declared that a "house divided" could not stand, the vast majority of Americans understood his reference to Jesus' words. Today, most would not. This is not because the Ten Commandments have been removed from a few courthouses. Instead, it is because God's Word has been removed from our personal houses.

While I am appreciative when leaders genuinely acknowledge the Word of God and equally disgusted when they appear to be invoking His name for vain reasons, I am more concerned that the eternal truths contained in the Bible are not ingrained in the minds of our people.

It is easy for us to complain when our leaders champion policies that clearly violate Biblical principles, but we must remember that our leaders are elected by "we, the people" and typically reflect a majority of voters. If we truly want to change the political landscape of our nation, we must start by winning the hearts and minds of average citizens. My wife, Betty, made the observation that the state of our hearts dictates the state of our nation.

Many of the hot-button social issues for conservatives and Christians, such as abortion, gay marriage, faith-based initiatives, creationism vs. evolution, euthanasia and more, would not be issues if there was a greater spiritual enlightenment among our population. In fact, many other issues, such as homelessness, addiction, hunger and care for the elderly, would be less of a burden on the government if the church was actually doing what it was created to do.

I am grateful that our nation's capital preserves many of the great homages to our Creator, but in order to have, as President Lincoln stated, "a new birth of freedom," we must engrave the Word of God in something stronger than stone; we must engrave it in our hearts and demonstrate its power in our lives.

President Barack Obama recently said in Turkey :

> After reviewing these acknowledgments of God from all 50 State Constitutions, one is faced with the prospect that maybe, just maybe, the ACLU and the "out-of-control" federal courts are wrong! Or are we supposed to CHANGE everything now to accomodate those "zillions" of immigrants (legal and illegal) who may choose to believe differently than what our nation was founded on ?? I can't help but feel that immigrants came HERE because we "WERE" doing it right!
Now,... I'm not so sure!!

"The fundamental basis of this nation's laws was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul. I don't think we emphasize that enough these days. If we don't have a proper fundamental moral background, we will finally end up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in the rights for anybody except the State". - President Harry S. Truman, Attorney General's Conference, 1950

Today is: Saturday, May 16, 2009 and it sounds to me that the totalitarian state is where we are headed!

American students asked to take a back seat again!!

Yes!! The administration has now re-introduced the "Dream
ACT of 2009"
See FAIR’s Media Director Ira Mehlman debate Gumecindo Salas, of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, about the reintroduction of the DREAM Act 2009 and its negative effect on U.S. taxpayers and in-state college applicants:

As a member of FAIR (The Federation for American Immigration Reform), I ask that you take the time to look at the Reform program on the FAIR website and join us in bringing common sense and justice to our immigration policies.

I'M SICK !!!!!!

How many more times must we "TURN the OTHER CHEEK" ??

We not only have to overlook that we are not a "Christian" nation any more...we are now "ALL things to Anyone" regardless of their beliefs. (apparently today's "liberalism" means we just let folks do what they wish, right....??) We certainly don't seem to promote the same moral values that our country was once founded upon.

We aren't an English-speaking nation anymore, either. We speak whatever language has the most people getting in across our open borders. Afterall, we wouldn't want to impose any hardships on our immigrants, right? I remember my Grandmother had to learn English when she came to this country in 1958. Not now... we just print extra signage and add more phone menu options, etc.

We allow our elected reps and appointed officials to "run amuck" with ethics violations and corrupt practices including tax violations, various mis-appropriations, and a whole host of charges where the outcomes never seem to get reported in the media??

Even our House Speaker (Pelosi) can "mis-state (aka: lie)" about her CIA hearings on Tortures in 2002 with no retribution.

Today from NEWSMAX.com:
Pelosi Lied, Briefed on Torture Memos in 2002
Thursday, May 7, 2009 10:20 PM
"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was thoroughly briefed in September 2002 that CIA interrogators were waterboarding terrorist Abu Zubaydah, according to report from the National Intelligence Director's Office that Fox News and other agencies obtained.
The revelations completely contradict Pelosi’s repeated assertions that she knew nothing about “harsh interrogation” measures being carried out on enemy combatants.
The 10-page report, submitted to the Senate Intelligence Committee and other Capitol Hill officials Wednesday, refutes in considerable detail Pelosi’s statement last month that she was never told about the use of waterboarding or other special interrogation tactics.
According to the report, Pelosi was told of the techniques used against Zubaydah during a Sept. 4, 2002, meeting with intelligence officials, then-House intelligence committee chairman Porter Goss, and two aides."

and then.....

We allow organizations like ACORN to have apparent immunity in their corrupt practices!!!! And, GUESS WHAT....they do so good in counting people like Mickey Mouse, the Dallas Cowboys, and certain other individuals seventy times over; .....that they will be allowed to work on the next U.S. Census!!! Oh Goodie!!!

and then.....
We allow our policy makers to go about making "knee-jerk decisions" like closing Guantanamo N.B. without having thoroughly thought out or planned for the consequences of such actions! I guess some will end up in the infamous Saudi "rehab" camps to go out again as better terrorists. Others may just be going to states like Virginia where they can draw welfare...and all the other benefits that you will help pay for!!

and YES, NOW we can't even tell our kids to "pull up their pants" !!

courtesy of The Tennessean: State telling kids to pull up pants may be "un-American" says State AG:
"The (TN) Attorney General opined today that a bill that would fine Tennesseans wearing their pants near their knees may be unconstitutional, an opinion that at least one blog saw coming."

NEXT = ????

Ready or Not...Here it Comes !
